Nissan introduced the mid-sized Altima in the 1993 help year. The Altima received its prototypal redesign in the 1998 help year, as Nissan slightly restricted its appearance to modernize the sedan. Check the notch on all quaternary newborn FR5-AP10, or equal flash plugs, using a flash block notch tool. Nissan recommends that the Altima's flash plugs have a notch of 0.037 to 0.041 inches. Replace some incorrectly gapped plugs for newborn ones, as these platinum-tipped plugs are not adjustable.

Open the Altima's cowl and post the flash block wires on top of the engine. Remove digit flash block accommodate by grabbing the thick, foam boot on the engine side of the accommodate and pulling ascending with a winding motion.

Inspect the garbled flash block accommodate for some defects, much as brittleness, cracks or extremity visual aging. Replace the flash block wires as a rank ordered if some defects exist.
