Nissan Rogue
The 2011 Nissan Rogue SV

EXECUTIVE EDITOR--AUTOWEEK.COM BOB GRITZINGER: As much as Nissan’s diminutive Juke brings me much joy, the Rogue does nothing for me when it comes to driving pleasure. This seems a lot like a bigger Juke, but with all the Juke taken out of it.

I give the vehicle credit for having loads of equipment and AWD, but as soon as you get into this size of a vehicle, the little four-cylinder seems underpowered for the job. Combined with the CVT, the car seems to get up to speed just fine, but feels weezy doing it.

Top it off with styling that is anything but distinguished, and I’m not sure this vehicle has enough pluses to set it above the competition. It’s another one of the ho-hum, middle-of-the-pack crossovers.

ASSISTANT ART DIRECTOR/DESIGNER TARA KLEIN: The refreshed Nissan Rogue is a decent-looking crossover, with exterior details such as the chrome grille and carved headlight styling contributing to a more sleek, updated look. The interior gets points for functionality but lacks in regards to character and storage capabilities.

On the road, the Rogue handles many conditions well; bumps are absorbed, the steering reacts comfortably and overall creates a pleasurable driving experience. However, engine noise is noticeable.

This wouldn’t be a bad choice for buyers looking for a practical vehicle with moderate cargo capacity, nice ride and an exterior that hints at fun.
